Burn Notice Star Jeffrey Donovan and Bruce and Kris Jenner Join Field
At 20th Annual Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic
BOCA RATON, Fla. (Oct. 19, 2009) --- Jeffrey Donovan, star of the hit television drama “Burn Notice,” and the husband/wife reality television stars of the popular show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” former Olympic Gold Medalist Bruce Jenner and his wife Kris, have been added to the field of celebrities and tennis stars at this year's Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic.
Now in its 20th season, the Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic will be played Saturday, Nov. 7 and Sunday, Nov. 8 at the Delray Beach Tennis Center in Delray Beach. The annual Gala and dinner dance will be held Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Boca Raton Resort and Club and will feature entertainment superstar Natalie Cole.
Along with Chris Evert, Donovan and the Jenners, the tennis legends and standouts scheduled to appear this year include former #1 players Lindsay Davenport and Monica Seles, men's tour favorite Justin Gimelstob and Vince Spadea. They will be joined by film and television stars Elisabeth Shue, Jon Lovitz and Maeve Quinlan, Today show host Matt Lauer, musician Gavin Rossdale and Fox & Friends hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade. Tennis Hall of Famer Bud Collins will also be on hand to emcee the weekend's events.
Tickets for the tennis action and the Gala dinner are available through Chris Evert Charities at 561-394-2400 or www.chrisevert.org. General admission tickets are $20 per day. Series tickets are $70 and individual day club seats (reserved seat with seat back) are $40 for each day. Box ticket packages range from $175 to $900, with individual box seats for $90. Children age 10 and under are free if accompanied by a paid adult in the general admission section. Gala tickets are $750 each.
Jeffrey Donovan currently stars as Michael Westen in USA Network's original series Burn Notice and was most recently seen in Changeling, opposite Angelina Jolie, as a corrupt police chief in the 1920’s-era drama. His other film work includes Come Early Morning, Believe in Me, Hitch, Sleepers, Purpose, Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 and Bait.
Bruce Jenner captured the world when he won the Gold Medal in the decathlon at the 1976 Olympics and earned the title of "World's Greatest Athlete." In the years since his athletic achievements Jenner has been involved in a wide variety of projects and causes. Jenner is an entrepreneur, commercial spokesman, television personality, producer, actor and author. Bruce and his wife Kris can be found spending time with his family onscreen on E! Network's "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."
Kris Jenner is the star and executive producer of the hit television reality series "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" which airs on E! Entertainment Network. She also is a correspondent for the popular entertainment show "The Insider," president of her own production company and manager of her husband, Bruce Jenner, and his successful motivational speaking tour.
Since the first event in 1989, the Chris Evert / Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic has raised more than $17.8 million to help abused and neglected children in South Florida. Chris Evert Charities partners with the Ounce of Prevention Fund of Florida, a public-private partnership in conjunction with the state of Florida to raise money supporting programs for at-risk children. The event is held in association with Broward Health Chris Evert Children's Hospital.

In competitive tennis, this is the beginning.
Nationals—the first "major" a young person
can compete in with the youngest age bracket being the
12's. Roddick, Agassi, Davenport, Capriati and many more,
all US Davis Cup and Fed Cup stalwarts whose games and
swagger were shaped by competing in these fiercely tough
events.
Player's International Management (PIM),
the sister company of the International Tennis Championships
in Delray Beach (ATP Tour event), is hosting this highest-level
national junior tennis tournament in the country for the
third consecutive year in Delray Beach and Boca Raton.
The prestigious USTA Boys’ & Girls’ 12’s
National Spring Championships hosted by the City of Delray
Beach will be televised nationally in over 23 million
homes. The tournament will be held April 9 – 15,
2006 with the girls competing at the Delray Beach Stadium
& Tennis Center and the Delray Swim & Tennis Club
while the boys compete at the Swim & Racquet Center
(Boca Raton) and Boca West Country Club. Both the girls
and boys semifinals and finals will be played at the Delray
Beach Stadium & Tennis Center.
The field consists of the highest-ranked
256 boys and girls in the nation in the 12 & under
age division. Competitors will gather in Palm Beach County
to compete for the coveted "USTA Gold Ball",
the most sought after trophy in US national junior tennis.
"The Gold Ball is everything if you're a junior",
says Ivan Baron, Tournament Chairman and multiple winner
of the coveted Gold Ball during his storied days as a
top American junior, including the No. 1 world ranking.
"I won quite a few national and international tournaments
while playing in the juniors and as a pro, so I have several
trophies that I packed and stored away. But the Gold Balls,
those I keep out for everyone to see."
Admission is FREE throughout the week.
